Vinous.com Like opening a jar of fresh raspberry preserves mixed with cloves and mint, the 2020 Pietranera pulls you close to a glass. The textures are silky-smooth and deeply sensual with a core of rich, intense red fruits and spices. There’s so much concentration here. It’s honeyed and floral with stimulating acidity to balance, plus a remarkably fresh finale. This is a ripe style, but it never crosses the line to cloying. Well done! The Pietranera is composed of 80% Sangiovese to 20% Cabernet Franc from younger vines, and it’s refined for three months in second and third-pass pass barriques. 91P Eric Guido
