| Antonio Galloni | The 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Doccio a Matteo is a powerful, deep wine. In this tasting, the Doccio stands out for its breadth and textural intensity. Wild dark cherry, plum, spice, leather and mocha infuse the 2018 with layers of dimension. Deep and fleshy, with terrific brightness, the 2018 has so much to o!er. The sheer richness of the fruit virtually covers the underlying structure, giving the wine surprising early appeal. I imagine the 2018 will improve in bottle, but opening one now is far from a crime. 94P |
